What is the Slave Resistance?
When slaves started to revolt against slavery by escaping, running away, and enjoying themselves outside of work.
Juba
Tap dancing comes from Juba dance, which is a kind of dance where you stomp your feet, clap your hands, pat your arms, legs, chest and cheeks. Juba dances first came from Africans on Plantations in the 1800s. Tap uses the same techniques as Juba, only you usually just use your feet and wear tap shoes which have metal plates on the toe and on the heel. Juba and tap have a lot to do with the slave rebellions and how slaves would sing and dance when they had free time on the plantations.
